About this work

Jane’s series of paintings called ‘Transcendence’ represents the level of consciousness through the expression and emotion in the subject’s eyes, an almost otherworldly expression. She used the grisaille technique in oil paint for all the faces to give a slightly dreamy effect and combined that with gold leaf representing the light of higher consciousness.
